The PETOL™ HYDRAULIC FRICTION BREAKOUT UNIT will not mar the surface of the parts being made up and broken out. Each Hydraulic Friction Tong and PETOL SURGRIP™ Vise Bushing is bored to grip a specific O.D. by friction alone. Vise bushings are held in place by a spring loaded plunger for quick change out. The units are powered by an electric motor and have a pressure gauge that reads out in ft.-lbs. of torque. For added safety, a controlled pressure relief valve allows the operator to adjust the working pressure for each job. When the set pressure is accomplished the system stops torquing.
NOTE: Maximum working loads range from 500 ft.-lbs. to 5,000 ft.-lbs. depending on size of tong being used.

PETOL™ Portable HYDRA-TORK™ Units
PETOL™ PORTABLE HYDRA-TORK™ UNITS get the job done right by providing added safety, convenience, and speed in breaking out drill stem and drilling tools, as well as exactness in measuring torque. A controlled pressure relief valve on electric and gas power consoles allows the operator to adjust the working pressure for each job. When the set pressure is accomplished the system stops torquing. These portable units cover a wide range of diameter and torque requirements. The PETOL Special Chains used with the PETOL Drill Pipe Tongs on these units are equipped with heavy duty bolts which make it possible to quickly change from one O.D. size to another.

PETOL™ HYDRA-TORK™ UNITS are designed for fast and easy operation when making up or breaking out pipe and tool joints. The units are equipped with PETOL Pulldown Visetongs and Tongvises to provide the greatest strength while minimizing marks on pipe surfaces. The heat-treated PETOL Special Chains on these tools are easily adjusted without disassembling the chain sections. The remote control console for the hydraulic system provides pressure gauges with exact read-out in ft.-lbs. of torque, as well as PSI. For added safety, a controlled pressure relief valve allows the operator to adjust the working pressure for each job. When the set pressure is accomplished the system stops torquing.

PETOL™ Tong Jack
The PETOL™ TONG JACK is a portable, pneumatic powered unit designed for use on threaded material having multiple make-up or break-out points. In addition, the use of “cheaters” or overhead hoists is eliminated when working connections that cannot be made up or broken out by hand.
The unit is suitable for use with a wide variety of PETOL Tongs to meet specific torque, diameter, and gripping width requirements and is capable of producing up to 3,500 lbs. of force. The Tong Jack includes a gauge that reads out in PSI and a chart to convert to pounds of force. The torque being applied depends on the torque arm length of the tong being used.
Selected tongs are held in place with a quick release pin making change out easy. Linkage and release pins are adaptable for both clevis and loop-style handles.
